Old Path White Clouds

I'm very pleased to share this commissioned work with you and very grateful to the lovely chap who commissioned the work, Guy Hart, for wanting to make it public and for offering the score as a free download.

The piece is inspired by a text within a biography of Buddha, called 'Old Path White Clouds'.

Within the passage Guy shared with me were some wonderful phrases decribing a piece of flute music Buddha played which were key to the creation of this piece: 'as delicate as a thin strand of smoke' and how it 'transformed into a thousand-petaled lotus'. That, a meditative quality and a request for cascading melodies with a lot of natural resonance all went into the pot, I gave it a stir, and this is what came out!
